Selling Plein Air Paintings. Yes or No?
Sept 12, 2023
What do I do with all my plein air paintings? I have the oil paintings stashed on a shelf and the pastels are in a scrapbook. Every now and then, I take them out and see if I am inspired to create a studio piece from the information recorded. I have never added them to my website for sale. Though there was one time when I was contacted by someone traveling through the area and bought the piece they watched me create.

Plein air paintings are about capturing that particular moment in real time. That’s what make them unique, even if they might also contain bits of sand, grass or the occasional small bug.
Should I offer them for sale?
I have decided to add a section to my website that includes the plein air paintings. Some display links to either time-lapse or my Art Adventures with Dale and Helen videos. The paintings will be for sale for now. This may change at a later date.
In the meantime, we want to share our experience with you through very unscripted live videos on Facebook as well as the more edited versions and timelapse videos of our painting process.
Somehow we might be able to find one place to link them all but take a look at some of the following links.
